Natural dried Mahogany Pods -Set Of 3

Streculia (Buddha) Pods and Mahogany Pods. (We sell both)

Natural dried botanical pods for terrariums, aquariums, vivariums, crafts, and home decor. Sold per piece. Each pod is naturally dried with no dyes or chemicals. Size, shape, and color vary.

Streculia Buddha Pods have an open cup shape that adds natural texture to terrariums, reptile habitats, shrimp tanks, blackwater aquariums, and bioactive setups. They can be used as hides for small reptiles, geckos, dart frogs, isopods, and springtails. They also work well in mixed aquatic and terrestrial environments.

Mahogany Pods have a rich natural texture and are long lasting. They are good for aqua scaping, terrariums, reptile habitats, crafts, and rustic home decor.

Care instructions: Rinse before use to remove dust. For aquariums, soak or boil to reduce tannins. Monitor water conditions when adding any natural botanical material. Avoid overuse in sensitive tanks.

Highly Versatile:

○ Aquarium: When properly prepared, they can release a moderate amount of tannin, promote biofilm, and they provide unique hiding spots and contribute to a natural environment which stimulates natural behaviors for fish and shrimp. ○ Bioactive Terrariums: Provides hiding spots and a food source for isopods, and springtails, enriches the substrate by releasing nutrients as they break down, and encourages natural and instinctive behaviors such as forging and exploring. ○ Pet Birds: Parrots enjoy mahogany pods as natural toys they can chew.

○ Botanical Home Decor: Perfect as decorative pieces, bowl fillers, or integrated into larger natural arrangements, terrariums, and potpourri ○ Craft & Art Projects: Their unique shape and texture inspire endless creative possibilities in wreaths, mixed media art, botanical art, and more. Preparation for Aquarium/Paludarium Use: 1. Boil: Boil the pods for at least 30 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins. These pods can be difficult to waterlog. 2. Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer if needed, changing the water daily, until they are fully waterlogged and the desired amount of tannin has been leached. 3. Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, they are ready to be added to your setup. Please Note: As a natural product, each pod is unique and will vary in size, shape, and coloration. These pods are intended for decorative, craft, and aquarium/vivarium use only and are not for human consumption.
